2025 Year in Review: Innovation, expansion, and new standards in Swiss security

class="img-responsive

The year 2025 was a groundbreaking chapter for us. a groundbreaking chapter. As we now start 2026 with full energy, we are taking a moment to look back on the milestones, technological breakthroughs, and tremendous growth of the past year. Our commitment to providing professional and empathetic security services of the highest standard reached a new dimension in 2025.

The 2025 review

Strategic expansion: Official branch office in Geneva

After careful planning and driven by the wishes of many renowned customers, we opened our branch in Geneva on August 1, 2025 . Despite the high investment, this step proved to be absolutely right: we can now serve our customers in western Switzerland directly on site and efficiently manage the entire French-speaking region.

  • The team in Geneva: We were able to expand our team with Valerio De Giorgi , completing the trio of De Giorgi brothers at DGP. We also strengthened our team with Director Ugo Rossi , an expert with over 40 years of industry experience.
  • The location: Our search for premises in the city center was challenging. We didn't want a ground floor office, but rather a location that offered discretion and the highest security standards. We found this at Rue de la Tour Maîtresse. The combination of antique wooden floors and state-of-the-art technology perfectly reflects the identity of DGProtection.
  • Outlook: An open house is planned for this year to welcome you personally in Geneva.

Technological milestones: The new valuables transport

In 2025, we implemented a project that took over a year to plan: a unique concept for the unmarked valuables transportthat is technologically advanced in Switzerland and possibly throughout Europe.

  • Beyond the minimum: Contrary to much advice, we have deliberately gone beyond the minimum requirements of insurance companies.
  • Live video surveillance & verification: A critical issue in transportation is often the "blindness" of the control center. We have a live transmission of the installed video surveillance system . This allows our operator to visually assess the situation at any time and verify data reliably, instead of relying solely on GPS and radio.
  • Innovation in electric vehicles: A major challenge was the reliable remote shutdown of electric vehicles, which we successfully solved after numerous tests.
  • Efficiency: Paperless processes and state-of-the-art biometric cases round off the system. The concept has a modular design and will be scaled to other vehicles in 2026.

Certifications & Quality: Swiss Made & ICoCA

For us, quality is not a coincidence, but a system.

  • ISO 9001:2015: We obtained certification for Zurich and Geneva on our first attempt. Our management system ensures that professionalism is firmly established as a standard process.
  • ICoCA affiliation: As one of the very few (if not the only) private security companies in Switzerland, we have been a member of the International Code of Conduct Association. This underscores our commitment to human rights – also with regard to future international assignments.
  • Swiss Made: We are proud to bear the official seal. 100% Swiss service, 100% quality.
  • Network: Through membership in the VSD (Security in Retail), the ISSS (Information Security Society Switzerland), and the Northwest Switzerland Association of Security Companies , we keep our finger on the pulse of the industry.

Team growth & training

For us, growth also means social responsibility. Our salary structures are based on the overall profile (experience, education, background) and are deliberately set above the minimum wage to keep staff turnover low.

  • Further training: In 2025, we attended seminars at military and government agencies in Germany and abroad. Highlights included training courses in tactical driving and tactical shooting courses.
  • Our own standards: We were the first company to develop a specific training module for unmarked valuables transport in order to guarantee a reproducible level of quality.

Sales and market presence

Thanks to national and international mandates, we have experienced rapid growth. Here is an insight:

  • National and international: Cross-project missions for clients in Germany and abroad (armed personal protection, protection concepts involving teams of 2 to 12 personnel over several weeks).
  • Luxury segment: Security concepts and Dorman services for boutiques in Zurich, Geneva, Graubünden, and St. Moritz.
  • Infrastructure & VIP: Construction site security from Bahnhofstrasse in Zurich via Lucerne to western Switzerland.
  • Events: Event security and VIP protection.
  • Chauffeur and Securedriver: Permanent missions.
  • Banking: Armed personal protection and specialized transport for the banking sector.
  • Consulting and analysis: detailed and professional risk analyses for high net worth individuals and the private sector.

Outlook for 2026

The journey continues

We have big plans for the new year:

  • Certification: Achievement of ISO 14001 (environmental management).
  • Portfolio: Expansion of services in the area of fire safety and fire protection with technical experts and expansion of  risk analyses for residential and personal threat assessments, as well as for homejacking threats.
  • Innovation: Deepening AI solutions in camera technology and expanding drone detection systems.
  • Sales: Negotiations for further major customer contracts with established national and international companies are already in full swing.
  • Marketing: Who would be interested in a DGP podcast? We want to further strengthen awareness of quality in the security industry.

A glance at the current security situation in Switzerland shows why these investments are necessary. Our strategy for 2026 is based directly on an analysis of the latest crime statistics.

Focus on security: What the 2024 crime statistics teach us

In order to objectively assess the security situation of our customers, we continuously analyze the official crime statistics of the Federal Statistical Office (FSO). The figures for 2024 show a significant increase in crime, which far exceeds the mere population growth.

Burglaries and thefts on the rise

A key reason for our decision to focus on unmarked transports and boutique surveillance is the trend in property crimes:

  • Massive increase in burglaries: The number of burglaries and thefts rose by 11.2% across Switzerland. 11.2% to a total of 46,070 cases. This corresponds to an average of 126 burglaries per day.
  • Focus on vehicles: There was a particularly sharp rise in vehicle break-ins (+26.8%) and vehicle thefts (+9.3%) rose particularly rapidly.
  • Criminal tourism: A large proportion of these crimes are attributed to professional foreign gangs who travel to Switzerland specifically to commit theft.

Violent crimes at record levels

The increase in violent crime, which has reached its highest level in 15 years, is cause for concern:

  • Serious violence: The number of serious violent crimes (such as aggravated assault and robbery) rose sharply by 19.4% .
  • Public space: More than half of all violent crimes (55.3%) take place in public spaces—a clear signal of the need for a professional presence and rapid intervention services.

Digital threats doubled

Since 2020, digital crime in Switzerland has more than doubled. In 2024 alone, there was an increase of 35%. Particularly striking:

  • Phishing attacks increased by 56%.
  • The misuse of online payment systems or third-party identities actually increased by 105% .

Our conclusion for 2026

Statistics confirm that we are on the right track: traditional security measures alone are often no longer sufficient. The low clearance rates for thefts (often only around 20%) show that prevention through technology (such as our live video transmission) and physical presence (such as our doormen) are the only way to effectively protect assets.

Thank you

With this review and outlook, we would like to express our sincere thanks to our team, our partners, and our customers, who have made this success possible. Here's to a safe and successful 2026!
